Radio Announcer Liz Black Wins First Stellar Award

Syndicated radio personality, Liz Black, has earned her first Stellar Award as Radio Personality of the Year during the recent 33rd annual Stellar Gospel Music Awards' Radio Awards ceremony at The Orleans Ballroom in Las Vegas. After four nominations, the vivacious broadcast legend has finally taken home the coveted gold statuette.
In her acceptance speech, Black thanked her listening audience and said that, " I do what I do because I'm on assignment to make sure that we continue to lift up the name of Jesus and try to make your day better no matter what's going on around you. I just want to say thank you and this means so much to me."
It's a high achievement for the former actress, model and voiceover host for BET's "Joyful Noise" musical TV series. Her life took a decade-long, downward spiral into drugs before she became a born-again Christian and started walking a new path as an on-air radio personality in 2001.
Black's weekday program "Inspirations with Liz Black" is syndicated by the Pittsburgh, PA-based American Urban Radio Network's AURN Inspirational wing. It airs between 10AM and 3 PM on a number of stations, including the powerhouse WLIB 1190 AM in New York City. Black also hosts "Sunday Praise" on WBLS 107.5 in the Big Apple.
