Listen to "We Are Done" HERE.
The brothers called in to talk with Ryan Seacrest on his radio show "On Air with Ryan Seacrest" to share about their new project. "We worked a very long time on this record," explains Joel. "We've been working for almost three years on this Madden Brothers record and were so happy to finally be done with it."
As for the future of Good Charlotte, Joel reassures fans saying, "Good Charlotte will always be," he adds. "It's in our DNA, but it's the Madden Brothers now, so we just decided to break off and do this new thing. We had to spend almost three years trying to find our sound ... and get inspired."
Their debut album as The Madden Brothers will be titled, Greetings From California, and is set for a release date of October 2014. It will feature the man who has been everywhere this past year, Pharrell Williams on the songs "California Rain" and "Good Gracious, Abby."
Greetings From California will also be "two-sided". "We did make little intros for each side of the album," adds Joel. "We feel like there's not a lot of that going on right now in music, especially in pop music. We thought it would be interesting to make the record a little bit more of a listening experience than a singles experience."
You can buy "We Are Done" on iTunes and check out The Madden Brothers official website HERE.
