Jason Aldean, Carrie Underwood Added To Country Rising Benefit Concert
It seems the southern portion of the U.S. has battled one natural disaster after another these last few months and once again, a roster of musicians is stepping up to raise money. Carrie Underwood and Jason Aldean will headline "Country Rising: Nashville Gives for Hurricane Relief" in Nashville, Tennessee, on November 12.
The singers will take to the stage to help raise money for those affected by recent hurricanes which have devastated Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands in recent weeks. Underwood and Aldean will be joined by an all-star lineup of fellow country stars, including George Strait, Garth Brooks, Reba McEntire, Dierks Bentley, Sam Hunt, Lady Antebellum, Little Big Town, Martina McBride and Chris Stapleton.
This star-studded concert will benefit the Country Rising Fund of the Community Foundation of Middle Tennessee. It's a fund established to help victims of Hurricanes Harvey, Irma, Jose and Maria, which have affected Texas, Florida, Puerto Rico and the Caribbean Islands. The far-reaching effects of these hurricanes have left millions stranded and without power.
"Country Rising: Nashville Gives for Hurricane Relief" is just the latest effort by entertainers to use their talent to bring funding into devastated areas that are beginning the painstaking process of rebuilding. In recent weeks ZZ Top, Paul Simon, Beyonce, George Clooney and many more have performed to help drum up money for hurricane relief efforts in areas that have been decimated. Close to $20 million has already been raised, but that barely puts a dent in the estimated $100 billion (Houston alone is said to have $40 billion in damages after Hurricane Harvey swept through) that is actually needed.
Tickets for the Country Rising relief concert - which is being held at Bridgestone Arena in Nashville - will go on sale Friday, October 6.
