Beckah Shae Gives Ed Sheeran's "Shape of You" a Worship Makeover

Singer and songwriter Beckah Shae has given Ed Sheeran's #1 song "Shape of You" a Christian makeover making it a new worship song. She has re-titled her remake as "If Ed Sheeran's 'Shape of You' were a Christian song by Beckah Shae." Sheeran's "Shape of You" peaked at number-one on the singles charts of 30 different countries, including the US Billboard Hot 100, as well as the UK, Australian and Canadian singles charts. It has stayed at number one for 16 consecutive weeks on the Canadian Hot 100 tied for the record, and 14 non-consecutive weeks on the UK Singles Chart, and 12 non-consecutive weeks on the Billboard Hot 100.
Shae has taken Sheerman's suggestive song and turn it into a song about meeting God. While the original begins with "The club isn't the best place to find a lover so the bar is where I go/Me and my friends at the table doing shots drinking fast and then we talk slow," Shae's altered lyrics now says, "The club isn't the best place to find a lover, so to you is where I go. Me and my naked heart in Your presence getting wrecked drinking fast until I overflow."
Later, in the song Shae makes it clear that she is speaking about God by using the word, Elohim which is a Hebrew name for God. "You are Love, and I worship You, whatever You say, I will do/ You have my heart, show me the truth. Elohim, breath on me, let Your glory fill this room."
or nearly ten years, soulful singer/songwriter Beckah Shae's been steadily gaining momentum, establishing her very own Shae Shoc Records with her husband/constant production collaborator Jack Shocklee and turning in eight studio CDs. Along the way, she's racked up top 10 Billboard Christian CHR radio singles like "I'll Be Alright", "Here In This Moment" and "LIFE," scored a Dove nomination for the latter gem, served as a featured guest on tobyMac's Billboard blockbuster Tonight album, collaborated with fellow multi-million album seller Montell Jordan on his latest Victory World Music project Shake Heaven and is also gearing up for two appearances on Dove Award winning rap luminary T-Bone's upcoming album.
