We Are Leo Talks About their New Single "Dimensions"
DREAM Records is proud to release "Dimensions" by Chicago-area based pop group, We Are Leo today. "Dimensions" is the first showing of the group's follow up to their widely successful album, Fightback Soundtrack. Their new album titled, The Rush & The Roar will be released on May 26th. The group's 3rd studio album, will show the band's evolution to their epic pop sound while staying true to sharing the love of Christ in their lyrics, through hope and love and encouragement.
"Over the past year, I have learned a lot about unplugging and getting away from the busyness of life in the digital age. The result? I feel refreshed. The other result is that I found myself face-to-face with issues I didn't even know I had. In the stillness and quiet, God met me and is doing a work of healing in my heart, and i'm so grateful. Dimensions is about my walk with God: the joy found in Him and a relationship in which I am learning more, daily. I don't have this figured out yet, but I am in route. This song is about the eyes of my heart being opened up and seeing new dimensions." says David Duffield of We Are Leo.
With a lyrical depth and refreshing originality, We Are Leo sings about life, love, and hope. Their unique expression of faith inspires people around the world to enjoy life, find healing, overcome depression and come to a stronger faith in Jesus.
When ask about the band's name ("Leo" means lion), lead singer, David Duffield, explains, "Being Leo or lionhearted, means daily choosing faith instead of doubt; it's about finding bravery to live the lives we were meant to live."
Graduating from the School of Worship in Kenosha, WI (just north of Chicago), then-Starbucks barista and part-time missionary, David Duffield, and his brother, graphic designer and youth leader, Jonny Duffield, built a make-shift recording studio in their garage and started cranking out rough, but passionate demos. They soon teamed up with worship leader/guitarist, Doug Weier, and eventually, guitarist John Panzer, to meld their music, style, and message into a synth-driven, pop-rock band with up-front guitars and contagious, upbeat hooks.
After two intense years of day jobs, midnight writing sessions, and weekend shows, they decided to make music full-time. Shortly afterwards, they were discovered by indie label Skies Fall Records, run by former guitarist of Skillet, Ben Kasica, whose invaluable insight helped them refine their sound and release their first record, Hello. This debut album propelled them to several notable accomplishments, including Christian Festival Association's New Artist Of The Year (2012) and a Billboard #1 Christian Rock single, "Supernova Sunrise." For the following three years, the band was on the road sharing their new music, making connections, and growing a loyal fan-base. After Skies Fall Records morphed into a video production company in 2014, they signed with Dream Records (Capitol Records Christian music division) and released their sophomore record, Fightback Soundtrack, which was selected as one of the "Top 5 Christian Albums of 2014" by The Christian Music Review.
We Are Leo states, "We believe that through these songs, young people will find hope, life, and joy. We believe chains will be broken. We're fighting back against depression, doubt, apathy, and addiction with the truth and love of Christ. We know that we live in a broken world but we know we don't have to let the failures and lies keep us down. This is music for those who want to live life to the fullest. It's for the dreamers, the believers; it's for the broken and the lonely who want to believe that broken hearts can find healing, and it's music for everyone who refuses to give up despite overwhelming odds."
