Jekalyn Carr's "You're Bigger" is Currently #1
Able to bring a crowd to their feet with her powerful performances, 19 year old Stellar Award winning artist, preacher, and entrepreneurJekalyn Carr, is next in line to be recorded as the most dynamic young Gospel singer of her time. Carr is currently celebrating an enormous amount of success. Not only can she add a #1 Billboard Top Gospel Albums ("The Life Project") and #1 Billboard Gospel Digital Songs ("You're Bigger") to her credits, but also- after 13 consecutive weeks at #2- her first #1 on Billboard's Gospel Airplay Chart (Listen to her song here: https://youtu.be/Z-ZV61eDLXI). That is an accomplishment.
This embryonic artist's burgeoning national acclaim is evinced by the distinct honor of being named a Power 100 by EBONY MAGAZINE as one of the most influential people in the world. She was on the same list as Beyonce, Bishop T.D. Jakes, Lebron James, andQuincy Jones to name a few.
Jekalyn encompasses the right kind of substance in which great Gospel artists are made. She understands the dynamic and sacrifices she has to make for her ministry and platform, and she does them willingly, because her focus is on the greater good-impacting people. Her gift, passion, character, integrity, talent, and sacrifice is evident in everything she does and she is more than deserving of this moment.
Carr states: "God has made "You're BIGGER" #1 on the Billboard gospel AirPlay chart this week!! Thank you to every radio station that continues to support my God given talent. I'm grateful for a team - Eboni Funderburk, Jason Hardy, my dad (my manager), mom, sister, and all of you for pushing and supporting the music that God has given me!!! We made it together. "
Eboni Funderburk of EFG Promotions adds: "I am so proud of this moment and honored to be a part of such an amazing team of people. We all worked really hard to make this and other firsts happen for Jekalyn this year, and it was important to us that we worked with integrity and resolve".
Carr burst onto the scene in 2013 with the poignant and powerful Billboard Top 5 single, "Greater Is Coming," as an independent artist, which showcased a vocal ability and intensity far beyond her 15 years. Jekalyn Carr was only 15 when she first broke into the Billboard 200 album chart. In 2012, The West Memphis-based artist had a hit with the Top 10 single "Greater Is Coming," which became the title track of her debut full-length in 2013. The album climbed into the Billboard 200 and debuted at number three on Billboard's Top Gospel Albums chart. In 2014, her sophomore album It's Gonna Happen peaked in the Top 10 on the Gospel Albums as well.
