Kane Brown Asks for Prayers for His Sister After Stabbing

Singer and songwriter Kane Brown is asking for prayers via Facebook. Brown's younger sister was stabbed multiple times on Tuesday.
"Prayers for my sister please," Brown writes. "I'm all the way out in Nebraska and get a text that she was stabbed 4 times! You better hope I don't find out who you are. I'm so sick to my stomach right now."
WRCB-TV in Chattanooga, Tenn. reports that Heidi Swafford was hospitalized after being stabbed multiple times in the neck and shoulder during a fight with another woman. Her injuries are not life-threatening but the nerve damage may be permanent. Reporter Kelly McCarthy tweets that no one has been arrested, but warrants are on file for a 16-year-old female on attempted second degree murder and aggravated assault charges. Swafford is 19 years old. The incident happened on Woodside St. at about 4:30PM on Tuesday.
Brown first came to the attention of the public through social media. In 2014, Kane Brown began posting videos of his covers of songs by Brantley Gilbert, Billy Currington, Alan Jackson and other singers on social media. He started to acquire a following through these homemade videos on Facebook; an early video to gain wider attention was his cover of Lee Brice's "I Don't Dance". His cover of George Strait's "Check Yes or No", released on September 30, 2015, went viral and received over 7 million views.
He released his first EP, titled Closer, in June 2015. A new single "Used to Love You Sober" was released in October 2015. After Brown signed with RCA Nashville in early 2016, the song was included on his EP Chapter 1, which was released in March 2016.
