Lauren Daigle Wants to Continue to Impact the World with Her #1 Album
One of the greatest success story in the recent years is Lauren Daigle. This week's best selling Christian album belongs to singer and songwriter Lauren Daigle. Her debut full-length How Can It Be for Centricity Records rebounds 2-1 on Billboard Hot Christian Album Chart.
This week, the album sold 5,000 copies in the week ending Jan. 14, according to Nielsen Music. After roaring 34-1 on the May 2, 2015 chart following its wide release, How Can It Be has added its second and third frames at the summit in two of the last three weeks (and has ranked in the top 10 for all but one of its chart weeks since its original coronation).
"When making this record, I had vision about what was to come," Daigle tells Billboard. "I set my focus on future sights but trusted that it was all in the hands of someone greater than me. I wanted to offer a record of hope, an album of refuge for those who needed a foundation in which to cling. I'm so grateful that God has allowed His heart for people to translate through music, to impact the lives of so many, just like a loving Father would."
Meanwhile, Daigle's new single "Trust in You" enters the top 10 on Hot Christian Songs (12-10). This is Daigle's fourth top 10 (all since late 2014).
Daigle is currently on the road as part of Winter Jam, which also includes For King & Country, Matthew West, Crowder and Red, among others. The tour runs through April 3 in Louisville, Ky.
