Francesca Battistelli, Blanca, Big Daddy Weave & Others Contribute to the Soundtrack of "Captive"

Coming on January the 8th is the soundtrack inspired by the Christian movie Captive: Music Inspired by the Motion Picture. Contributing to this WORD Release are some of contemporary Christian music's most popular artists including Big Daddy Weave, Meredith Andrews, Francesca Battistelli, for KING & COUNTRY, Everfoun, and many others.
Captive is a Christian thriller movie written by Brian Bird and Reinhard Denke, and based on Ashley Smith's book, "An Unlikely Angel", Captive is based on a true story that revolves around the life of an escaped prisoner who takes revenge on the people who put him in jail and takes a young woman hostage. The move features David Oyelowo, Kate Mara, Leonor Varela, Jessica Oyelowo, Mimi Rogers, and Michael K. Williams
Brian Nichols (Oyelowo) breaks out of the courthouse jail and shoots dead the judge assigned to his case as well as a court reporter, sheriff's deputy, and FBI officer. While eluding a statewide manhunt, Nichols takes Ashley Smith (Mara), a single mother struggling with meth addiction, hostage in her own apartment. Over the course of her harrowing ordeal, Smith desperately uses a book she has been given, Rick Warren's THE PURPOSE DRIVEN LIFE, to reason with her captor - with surprising and unforeseen results.
Here is what critics are saying about the movie:
"The film, directed with verve and tension by Jerry Jameson, is at its best when focusing on Brian, panicked and intense, and Ashley, wan and hardened by life, and the common ground they share." From Katie Walsh's review in the Los Angeles Times.
"Emphasizing qualities like compassion, hope, grace and spiritual introspection ... Jameson and scribe Brian Bird offer up a more inspired - if not exactly artful - alternative in the burgeoning faith genre." From Geoff Berkshire's review in Variety.
"Though much of the drama is clunky and flat, the taut, visceral performances by David Oyelowo and Kate Mara never err." From Sheri Linden's review in The Hollywood Reporter.
"Oyelowo and Mara achieve terrific chemistry. Perhaps they'll work together again - in a better film." From Calvin Wilson's review in the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
"Part of the problem is that, like so many other mainstream films that treat the issue of religion and religious epiphanies, the story glosses over the religion part." From Bilge Ebiri's review in New York.
