Listen to Carrie Underwood's New Single "Heartbeat" Here
Country music veteran and committed Christian Carrie Underwood has released her second single off her forthcoming album Storyteller. The new single "Heartbeat" is a soulful tune which you can listen below.
"I feel like a lot of the songs that I wrote and gravitated to ended up being more traditional and 'twangy' than anything I have ever done before. I just went with it! I love the storytelling aspect of country music ... it's one of the reasons I always wanted to be a part of it."
Underwood conttinues: "There are some things on there that are definitely familiar, but there's a lot of growth that has happened, as well. It's going to sound a little bit different - still the things that fans will obviously know is me. I'm not going crazy or anything, but it's a little bit of a shift."
"Heartbeat," co-written by Underwood with Zach Crowell and Ashley Gorley (both frequent contributors to Storyteller), is more of a mid-tempo ballad than its predecessor, Underwood supplemented by backing male vocals as she sings of an evening spent away from the city, by the fire and "dancing to the rhythm of your heartbeat." The images it evokes should be perfect as fall bonfire season hits critical mass this month.
"Heartbeat" is the fourth track on Storyteller, and fans who pre-order the record will receive it as an instant download.
