The Movie "Annie" Seeks to Bring Families Together for Christmas (Watch Trailer Here)

Opening in the theatres nationwide is the new movie "Annie." If Christmas is about families and reaching to those who are lonely and including them as family, "Annie" is set to do that according DeVon Franklin, the Creative Executive of the movie.
"I think that whenever you can take your family to a movie and enjoy a shared experience that can uplift you, can bring you hope, can bring you closer, especially during the holiday season, that's important. And this film can and will do that," he added. "Family isn't always biological; a lot of times you can find family where family is. Family can be those people who love you, who care for you whether they're biological or not. It's important to find family where you can. Movies like 'Annie' bring that idea to the front."
"Annie," originally a Broadway classic, is about a young orphan girl who dreams of finding the perfect family. Maltreated by the woman in her foster home, Annie tries to live up to her beliefs and has built a friendship with the other orphans in the foster home. Trying to make ends meet and living in an orphanage in New York, Annie is brought over to the house of a millionaire who wasn't very keen on having or even being around children.
The remake is directed by Will Gluck and will star Quvenzhane Wallis as Annie, Jamie Foxx and Cameron Diaz. Fans of the musical will now be able to relive the brand new "Annie" movie that includes dancing on the street and a whole lot of talented kids singing their hearts out.
The release date of the movie is said to be on Dec. 19, 2014.
Franklin is the President/CEO of Franklin Entertainment, a production company in conjunction with Sony Pictures Entertainment. He formerly served as the Senior Vice President of Columbia TriStar Pictures. To learn more about Franklin and his company, please click here.
