Linda Ronstadt and Joe Ely's Long Lost Single Released

"Where is My Love" is a long lost duet by Joe Ely and Linda Ronstadt. It was first recorded in 1987 and finally after all these years, the single will be available on iTunes come Monday, December 15.
Written by R.C. Banks, "Where Is My Love" has been an Ely staple for years, but it was first recorded with Ronstadt in 1987 in a Los Angeles studio with Mitch Watkins on guitar, Bill Ginn on keyboards, Jim Keltner on drums and Tony Marisco on bass. The recording was never released. Ely and Ronstadt recently visited about the recording and decided it was time the world heard the recording.
What's most precious about the single is that it comes after Ronstadt's recent announcement that she can't sing anymore. Battling with Parkinson's Disease, the illness has robbed the "Don't Know Much" singer's ability to sing.
"I can't get to the note," she says. "I can't make any quality sound. I can't arrange pitch. I might aim for a note and hit another one. It sounds like shouting."
With hits such as "Don't Know Much," "You're No Good," "We Ran" "When Will I Be Loved," "Blue Bayou," and many others since the 70s, this news has grieved many fans. Not only has Ronstadt lost her ability to sing, she is also finding day to day life a challenge.
"I'm still getting around, but it's harder and harder ... It's just really hard to move," Ronstadt tells CBS San Francisco. "It's hard to wash my hair, brush my teeth, put my clothes on. It's hard to get up and out of a chair. But once I get going, I can go for a little bit."
