iOS 8.1 vs. Android 5.0 Lollipop: Things That Should Matter

iOS 8.1 vs. Android 5.0 Lollipop: Things That Should Matter
There were times when smartphones are advanced gadgets that made you look cool in front others, whether or not they served any real purpose or provided any benefit. However, today it is all about making smartphones an important part of lives in a rather intelligent way. They have to be convenient for every little aspect in the live and only two of the giants can meet such expectation and make things happen better than ever. Both Apple and Google have surprised with their operating systems for smartphones for the last few years and yet again it comes down to two of their latest, iOS 8 and Android 5.0. In fact, Apple has gone one step further to iOS 8.1 with Apple Pay.
Visuals and Aesthetics
Apple was at the pinnacle of design aesthetics once thanks to its minimalist approach but now Google has stepped up to the competition and made Android Lollipop a treat to the eyes. The little icons, which are sort of geometry patterns look really interesting and so do the new widgets for dialer, chrome, camera and other similar stuff. On the other hand, Apple has stuck to its popular iOS 7 icons and widgets, but those look beautiful too.
Keyboard and Dialer
If you've already used the Apple dialer, the little details do make a huge difference. A little glare on the numbers alongside classic gray and black is for classic Apple lovers. Google has decided to be a little more playful with their dialer adding a bit of color and style. Keyboards are pretty much old school without much of the changes.
Functionality and Feel
There is no doubt that Android 5.0 Lollipop looks more playful and alive in every sense but functionality is where Apple iOS 8.1 aces. With new health applications and Apple Pay system, it's easier to manage two of the most important things in the world, health and wealth. As app stores are pretty much identical, it comes down to what exactly you want to use as your next operating system. So are you up for iOS 8.1 or rather give the Android 5 a chance to impress?
