'Edge of Tomorrow': A Battle Between Alien and Human Race
"Edge of Tomorrow" is a fantasy, drama and science fiction directed by Doug Liman and written by John-Henry Butterworth, Christopher McQuarrie, Joby Harold and Dante Harper. The film was based on a screenplay that is adapted from the famous Japanese novel by Hiroshi Sakurazaka entitled "All You Need Is Kill."
"Edge of Tomorrow" is about an office Major Bill Cage has never seen a day of battle when he's demoted and dropped unceremoniously into combat. Major Cage is killed in minutes, but he was able to bring down an alpha alien with him. Cage gets killed in action. However, he awakens back at the beginning of similar day and is compelled to be involved in a battle and die all over again - as any physical contact with an alien has actually thrown him in a time loop.
Eventually, Cage notices that he's becoming an even better warrior and the other events are starting to change, which might actually the primary key to alter the outcome of events.
Starring Emily Blunt and Tom Cruise, who play the role of Rita and Cage, everyone will be brought to a different kind of life in the future where human needs to fight the aliens. It is up to Rita and Cage, United Defense Force members to beat the alien race and protect humanity.
The arsenal of futuristic weaponry of the movie includes an aircraft that resembles a tilt-rotor Osprey or Chinook helicopter hybrids.
"Edge of Tomorrow" suggests a fate that is actually worse than dying, which is an unending torment in purgatory wherein infinite chances is tantamount to immeasurable amounts of failure. Such existential idea gird the teasing and puzzle-solving story of the movie, providing it a resonance to go with the trial-and-error process of Cage.
The director was able to choreograph all the action sequences in the film with a frantic grandeur and the aliens are wonderfully horrifying monster-spiders.
The film "Edge of Tomorrow" gives Doug Liman his biggest canvas. The narrative and the visuals of the movie are relatively sophisticated. It is also great to note that the film brought millions domestically and billion globally.
