NBC Superhero Flick Presentation: 'Constantine' Series, Latest News, Updates, Spoilers From Hellblazer Comics from DC
There is another hero in town! If you just can't get enough of superheroes these days, this new program is for you.
NBC presents "Constantine" the TV series. According to Christian Post, the series will revolve around a magician fighting occults, demons, exorcisms and almost anything from the underworld. His name is John Constantine (Matt Ryans).
Daniel Cerone and David Goyer developed the series. Cerone was the creator of TV hit series 'Motive' while Goyer is part of the 'Dark Knight' trilogy. The pilot episode 'Non Est Asylum' shows "Constantine" inside a mental hospital. He voluntarily checked in to get rid of bad 'experiences'. He even asked the doctors to do an electric shock procedure but to no avail. Constantine has the power to see and call demons. In an unfortunate incident, a girl died when Constantine encountered a demon named Negral. Encountering Negral was a traumatic experience for Constantine and because of it he wanted to get rid of his powers. But nothing can be done, no one can help.
Finally, Constantine decided to use his magic for the good and face all demons and get rid of them. His journey won't be easy but at least he had some friends to help. Constantine has Manny (Harod Parrineau) his guardian angel. He also has his friend and driver Chas Chandler (Charles Halford) and Zed Martin (Angelica Celaya) to help him win the battle against evil forces and save humankind.
Neil Marshall directed the first episode of "Constantine." Marshall is well-known for his directorship skills in Game of Thrones, Dog Soldiers and The Descent. Other stars in the premiere episode of "Constantine" are Joey Phillips as none other than Negral, Miles Anderson as none other than Dr.Roger Huntoon, Michael James Shaw as none other than Voodoo king and Emmett Scanian as Jim Corrigan or "The Spectre." Special guest is Lucy Griffiths as Liv Aberdeen, the first girl Constantine saved in Atlanta after his asylum experience.
According to Toronto Sun ,"Conatantine" TV series is based on a Hellblazer comics from the DC universe. It was an original character created by Alan Moore with the help of artists John Totleben and Steve Bissette. The Constantine character was first seen in "The Saga of the Swamp Thing," IGN reports. Viewers will know more about "Constantine" and his extraordinary journey in the second and third episodes.
The second episode "The Darkness Beneath" will be released on Oct. 31 while "The Devil's Vinyl" episode will be on Nov. 7. Premiere episode "Non Est Asylum" is on Oct. 24, Friday.
"Constantine" TV series is a special production of NBC.
So move over other superheroes of the small screen, "Constantine," the conqueror of dark forces, is coming!!
